Dr. Carl Clauberg

Carl Clauberg was born in Wuppertal in 1898. He participated in WWI as infantryman and later studied medicine. He advanced to doctor-in-chief at the University gynecological clinic in Kiel. He entered the NSDAP in 1933, and later he was appointed Professor for gynecology at Koenigsberg University.

Clauberg eventually came to Auschwitz and worked with Block 10 for his medical experiments. While there, Clauberg injected chemicals into the wombs of women in order to discover an efficient method of sterilization. Most of his victims died.

Clauberg was tried and convicted to 25 years in the Soviet Union but was later released. Clauberg was arrested again in 1955 but died before his trial began.
